Olympus big shoot experience day
It was a fun day at an amazing shoot location. We had two fantastic models Akari Desire and Toni Harrison, who were made up and styled by the talented Zoe Hughs. Wearing some fabulous foam feather creations by John Foam-Wizard Davis.
As it was an Olympus event I had the option to try out one of their Olympus OMD EM1's. So I decided to shoot solely on the EM1 and examine the images at home. I've been mulling over switching from my Nikon DSLR system to the Olympus micro 4/3's for a while so this was a good opportunity to try it out on a fashion location shoot.
I found it surprisingly intuitive, as I had worried it would be so overloaded with features it would mean constant trolling through the menu functions. Most of the basic controls I needed like changing aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and colour balance easy to locate. I was really impressed with the colours and clarity of the live view, both through the view finder and on the display on the back of the camera.Once I got the SD card home and loaded it up I found it a true reflection of the images captured. Focus seemed easy and accurate.
I was really pleased with the images, especially those shot on the 75mm prime. Please see below for a selection from the shoot.
